Transformers Patch - Autobot

I have a question for you guys. Do you think this would look better with a white or black background or as it is. Keep in mind that it is meant to be a patch

This is a gift for my friend ~FirePhoenixofRa Her and two other friends, whom I've yet to complete gifts for, took me with them on a trip to Kansas City to celebrate my graduating college.

The pattern for this was originally designed to be knit. I found it via Google.
